about

In 2010 the association Stadtraumnutzung e.V. planned a series of concerts called “Riemengast 1.3”, which was to host each month three concerts of one band on the stage of Antje Øklesund (originally a
furniture factory in the German Democratic Republic) in the quartier of Friedrichshain.
The main concept behind the project was to invite chosen bands from Berlin to surpass the established features of their live concerts through, for example, new collaborations with other musicians, uncommon elaborations of their repertory, the integration of teathrical and visual elements in the performance or the organization of particular events to be associated to the live-acts.

The month of May was dedicated to THE SOMNAMBULIST, which performed on the evenings of Thursday 6th, Tuesday 18th and Friday 28th.

The first evening was an almost-unplugged session featuring Paula Sell on accordion, Manuel Kailuweit on guitar and Arnold Erben on bass.
On the 18th Chris Abrahams (piano), Els Vandeweyer (vibraphone) and Pablo Juanes (sax), they joined on stage the band for an improvisational development of some songs.
On Friday 28th took place the Record Release Party of “Moda Borderline”, the debut album of THE SOMNAMBULIST published on that day by Acid Cobra Records and recorded the year before, right in the same rooms of Antje Øklesund during the summer break of the club in 2009.
The three live performances were fully recorded by Till Kreische, already at the mix-desk during the studio sessions of the album

“LIVE IN BERLIN”, the new production of THE SOMNAMBULIST published now on digital format by Acid Cobra Records, is a selection of six tracks taken from three and a half hours of live recordings.

“LIVE IN BERLIN” it’s one of a kind, a one-shot photography that seizes an instant from the continuous metamorphosis of this band, documenting unedited expansions of three tracks originally released on “Moda Borderline” (“Quinto Mistero della Gioia”, “Luce” and “Alice Never”) and three unreleased songs (“My Own Paranormal Activity”, “Sophia Verloren”, “...And The Snow Still Falls”) which will take part of the next studio album of the band (scheduled for release in 2012).
