about
Moda Borderline is The Somnambulists debut album: released by Acid Cobra Records, it was conceived during the
live performance from Hotel Ambiente across Europe during 2007 and 2008, and developed through electro-acoustic
and improvisational performances. It was recorded in Berlin from the 24th to the 30th of August 2009 at Antje
Øklesund, an ex- furniture factory of the GDR now converted to a permanent figurative sound installation.
The eight tracks included in Moda Borderline are not just a kaleidoscopic labyrinth constructed of kinetic sculptures
and intersecting planes of conflicting meanings, once populated by weird and slippery characters struggling with
unintelligible situations: subject to any interpretation, this album is also the picture of a subtle and incandescent
mood.
During the gap between the recordings and their first release, the band has already begun working on new material
and further developement in their sound, as you can listen during their current live performances.
